Imagery on Clay

My art training spanned many mediums.  One that has always fascinated me is that of print making.  I have been silk screening off and on since childhood.  In addition to silk screening on clay I have been experimenting with laser print decals and mono-printing with colored slips.  In the first gallery I painted on clay with colored slips.

There are two image galleries: Colored Slip Painting and Decal Imagery

Colored Slip Painting

I mix colored slips to paint on the surface of clay.  My inspiration is that of the Ukeyo-e from Japan.

Decal Imagery

The use of imagery printed on decal transfer paper are another avenue in which I enjoy using the clay surface as a canvas.  Most of the imagery used here are photos I have taken in the State of Oregon and adapted from Sumi-e brushwork.
